Can old analog tv’s be allowed to receive the free over the air HD channels now broadcasted?

What do you need to allow your old tv to receive the free over the air HD channels they have, like the way the use and still use to receive old anolog antenna signals. Do you need a special tuner?
I know the new HD tv’s have the ability to carry major Networks with the built in HD antennas for free but how do you get your old tv to do this?
